We are stoked to announce the return of Dev79 to Music Ecology. He will be accompanied by local heroes: DJ Spliffolian as well as an extremely rare public appearance by Dabu. This will also be a chance to wish "Happy Birthday" to Music Ecology's non-musical resident Polina Volchek before some of you depart to your winter holiday destinations!

Dev79 (Seclusiasis, Slit Jockey Records, Made In Glitch)
Philadelphia producer/DJ, Dev79, has been banging it out as OG of the underground scene. He effortlessly we
aves elements of grime, garage, rap, dubstep, juke, among a plethora of other styles, with Philly's cultural and musical history, into a tapestry of urban bass music that he (along with compatriot Starkey) have dubbed "Street Bass." Through his original productions, remixes and collaborations, Dev79 always takes you on a daring ride of emotions and flavors, that will urge you to let your body take control.

With his riotous DJ sets, Dev79 has kept dance floors sweaty across North America with his deep selection of bass heavy urban music, and has shared the stage alongside acts such as Lazer Sword, Bok Bok, DJ Shiftee, AC Slater, Cobra Krames, Proper Villains, Drop the Lime, Girl Talk, Jokers of the Scene, Poirer, Plastician, Skepta, Digital Mystikz and Willy Joy.

Dev79 and Starkey are the masterminds behind the Seclusiasis empire, as well as Slit Jockey Records with partner El Carnicero. These successful and acclaimed labels have released artists such as DNAEBEATS, Kastle, Stagga, Trim, Aquadrop, Todd Edwards, J-Sweet, BD1982, Warrior Queen, Rustie, NastyNasty, Murderbot, Mr. Mitch, MANIKAN and Knight Riderz.

Lastly, Dev79 is known to pen some words about music. He's been holding down the weekly "DJ Nights" column for the Philadelphia City Paper for years now and just recently he's started doing release reviews for DMC World Magazine as well.

SPLIFFOLIAN (SUBduction, Sub.Fm)
Spliffolian AKA Selecta Folian has been spinning records for the past 11 years, performing alongside numerous heavy weights including the Mad Professor, Kentaro, Scuba, 2562, Roommate, Jah Warrior Shelter, and Twilight Circus Dub Sound System. Always an avid music listener and musician, he began djing at his college radio station in Portland, OR playing reggae and dub. Upon moving to San Francisco after college, he became fully immersed in the SF dubstep scene. Departing San Francisco for Utrecht, NL in 2008, Spliffolian quickly linked up with local dubstep crews, holding down a monthly residency almost immediately and making regular guest appearances around the Utrecht/Amsterdam areas. Now residing in Boston, Spliffolian has continued to rock whatever scene he finds himself in playing alongside his new local crew SUBduction. Always fond of radio, he has been active on SubFM for a number of years with his current show, SUBduction Radio, rotating weekly with Codiac every Monday, 2-4am GMT.

OK, you all know how rare it is to see an actual Dabu set in a public venue. If you don't, it's because it's THAT rare. So don't miss a chance to witness something magical here!
