Cathode Rays is a Boston-based chiptune rock band which consists of Rob Lynch, Avi Paul Weinstein, and Kedaar Kumar. Rob started the project as a solo 8-bit programmer and performs live using a Super Nintendo controller to play 8-bit melodies. Avi joined the group when Rob started adding guitar to his compositions. During the summer of 2009, they played shows with Oxytocin, a collective formed at Harmonix Music with multiple artists from diverse musical backgrounds. After playing shows throughout the fall with Boston8bit, a New England chiptune collective, the group expanded to a 3-piece with Kedaar on drums. Their unique blend of 8-bit sounds, live instrumentation, and custom visuals gives them a style unlike any.
Base-24 is Aurelio Ramos and Kedaar Kumar. They are a digital arts collective expanding the boundaries of human-machine interaction. Trippy, mesmerizing, and at times deliberately confusing, Base-24's audio-visual installation engages the senses and the mind.
