Music Ecology is proud to host a second installment of the Bass Embassy Invasion featuring Diode/Johhny Braap/Andis/ and Elijah Divine
Based Out of Worcester, Massachusetts, USA, Puertorican Producer, Diode (Alex Alejandro), has been making his mark in Drum & Bass culture for a few years now. His hard work and effort have been turning heads all over the globe. His diverse yet complex approach to the art of producing drum’n’bass has allowed labels to sign and release various tracks for the masses to enjoy. His first releases began in 2005 on Signal Recordings UK with Cyclone/Final Night along side Position Chrome's heavy weight producer, Cooh.
In 2007, Diode signed to Close 2 Death Records (UK). The tracks "No More Time" and "Noise" were the first of many tracks to get signed to the label. In 2008 Diode came stronger then ever with the bass wrenching hit "No Man's Land," hitting top 20 on Nu Urban's Release Charts for Close 2 Death records as well as "Power Junkie," for Close 2 Death via Beatport. Ending 2008, Diode and Cooh tagged again under the alias "HARM" and released "Headstomp" on well versed Prospect Recordings.
2009 has seen an assortment of tracks on various labels. Close 2 Death Records release of the dance floor hit Diode - Krion. Ammunition Recordings has the Diode - Time Soldier EP featuring First Kick, Binary, and Primal. Abducted Recordings is slangin' Antimatter / Dirt Nap. Belgium nuero-funk label, Mindtech Recordings has the Diode - Record Breaker EP.
Going into 2011, Alex Alejandro developed his alter ego and created the dubstep project "SWAGG" aka SWAGGATRON. With the first release of "Badd / Like It Loud" on Subchamber Records and highly anticipated debut EP on Abducted Records as well as a release on Ammunition Recordings sub-label, Caliberm, Swagg is on a roller coaster ride of beats containing gut wrenching basslines!!!! Don't blink, Diode is still grinding out heavy tracks and with 2011 already seeing the "End of the Stereo" EP released on international producer, Kryteria's label, Krypled Brain Records.
Johnny Braap ~ (Dubstep.FM, MA)
Johnny Braap is quickly gaining momentum in the New England bass music scene. Braap spent the early stages of his 10+ years in the game mixing jungle and DnB. His focus has recently shifted to highly aggressive dubstep, drumstep and filthy filth, often incorporating a hint of tech house to balance the attack. In 2011 alone, "J-Braap" has destroyed dancefloors at Bassdrop and Wicked Womp Wednesdays in Rhode Island, while holding a residency at Bass Embassy in Massachusetts. He has been a regular performer on NEBA's "Bassface Radio" show on dubstep.fm, with listeners across the globe. Don't miss out on Johnny Braap and his violent arsenal of low-frequency mayhem!
Andis~ (RI) [NEBA / Dubstep.fm / Morlock Musik]
Andis is one of the solid facets of the New England EDM scene. Spinning since 1999, his skills have brought him across the northeast. His musical selections in dubstep, jungle and drum&bass are exalting, and his turntablism is among the best. Representing New England Bass Alliance (NEBA), Morlock Musik, and one half of the serious combination “Binary Beatdown”, Andis is a bass music badman not to be missed!
